Tim,

Thank you for the doc, the tours, the blog and and everything else you are doing to help the planet.

I am glad you acknowledge it may be possible to help the beast die a less destructive death. I believe Canada can play a major role as a key influencer. I believe Canada is the number one supplier of fossil fuels to the US and has vast reserves of oil sands that are expensive (environmentally and economically) to develop, as well as other forms of energy, resources and water. Canada has a strong claim to the strategic Northwest passage. Canada's population is educated, connected, diverse and increasingly concerned about environmental issues. Canada is well respected among many nations in the world. Although Canada currently has a conservative government, it stands as a minority; therefore an election is possible anytime.

I believe there is an opportunity for Canada to leverage the above assets and attributes to alter the ship's course to some degree, reducing the loss of life. While Canada is an engine on the train, its tight coupling with the train's command/control system could allow it to exert sufficient influence to slow the train, perhaps even enough to switch tracks.

When you talk about getting back to the North, please look north across the border and consider the impact your work there could have.

I have asked the Canadian Broadcasting Corp (CBC) to air your doc. Hopefully they will contact you (if so please let me know) and you can agree on terms for them to air it. I hope many people see your doc soon.

Thank You & Best Wishes
Gar

Dear Tim,
you are so generous in sharing all of this under the weight of fatigue you must be feeling from the culmination of the tour. I'm in gratitude for being able to read it today as I'm in a funk with the weight of it all and it helps to know you, Sally and so many others of us connected by your film are all facing forward into our fears, the fear of what is to come. I sit here looking out on the first big storm here on the Fraser River. Remembering how you wished for such a storm while you were here. The winds of change are blowing hard.
This one's for you Tim.
love & light Vivienne, Ladner, B.C.

Hi Tim,

This is beautiful. Thank you. It brought tears to my eyes. I'm glad you and Sally are home again and have some breathing space to reorient yourselves, but I'm also glad your tour is over for now, and that you touched so many people.

I showed WaWtG last week to a small group (12) here in Amsterdam. Only one person was in complete denial. Most appreciated it a lot. As things unravel further in the world, I will probably try to show it again to a larger audience to try to bring more understanding.

Sending love and support,

Thanks, Gar! We had some great experiences in Canada. I hope you're right about Canada's ability to have some say in how this goes.

Vivienne, thanks for the storm! Let's see if we can make it blow from BC to NC! As Peter Gabriel sings, "You can blow out a candle, but you can't blow out a fire. Once the flames begin to catch you know the wind will blow it higher." A mixed metaphor, but you get my drift... Glad to know we can comfort you from so far away. Please know that it works in reverse as well!

Hi Suzanne, I was just wondering about you the other day, wondering if you made it back home OK, wondering how you were doing, wondering if your new website/blog was up and running yet. Good to hear from you! Thanks for bringing us to Amsterdam! Thanks for the love, and back atcha!
