Encompasses me,

The meditation and your response to it feels like a balm, acknowledging the need for presence, and for action through non-action. Thank you.
Twenty years ago I had a dream: In that dream I was looking at the earth from outer space. It was totally black in a black sky, with the coasts of the continents barely visible. The sky was filled with stars, and behind the earth as if emanating from the North America was a beautiful pink nebula reaching up, half as high as the earth was round. It looked as if the world was on fire in shades of pink. Looking down on the Midwest I could see a golden boat, which looked like a golden arrow pointing toward the west and moving slowly westward across the plains. All the rivers and tributaries looked like lightening bolts. I woke up from the dream in deep grief and anger and guilt about the destruction of our planet. Although I could see symbolically the hope in the dream, I could not feel it at all. Reading this blog I can feel that hope: not for myself or anyone in particular, but for the earth, for the possibility of life bringing something good, something better than what we have today. And, I can feel my right place in this unfolding story. Again, thank you for your Video, for your blog, for being a soul with whom I can join, on my quest to find peace in the way things are, and strength to be my best as I live the final years of my life.

Sally-- lovely! I was moved by the beauty of your thoughts. I am Gary's wife whom you had in one of your dialogue circles last fall. I particularly appreciate you both for being the voice of how humans should communicate best on this earth and articulating the emotion of being here now fully conscious. There are a lot of analyzers out there writing about the cold hard facts of powerdown (I appreciate them too, don't get me wrong!) but very few talking about the emotion with such clarity free of baggage.

Hi Sally,

Who said Tim was the writer in the family? Must be just an unfounded rumor I heard once upon a time long long ago.

Great piece!!!!

If I remember correctly, you used the Hopi Elder Speaks business in your movie "What A Way to Go", didn't you?

The only thing I can add is a response to your question in the article "How do I have a garden and at the same time let go of the shore?" I think it comes from Voltaire. Plant your garden as though you would live forever. Live like you would die tomorrow.

Who is in there... you are, Sally. And a whole bunch of others. I only wish I could see you all more often.

So tired of struggling, I am.

Your words are a blessing and I'm grateful to you, dear Sally.

It's good to see new posts from you guys.
Thanks.
Who's in there with me? A lunatic, a mad scientist, an angry technologist leaning toward communism (why do we have to have so many companies making parts that don't fit anything?), and someone with a very big chip on his shoulder about how human beings waste their abilities on stupid sh..t that doesn't need to be done.

Breathtaking, Sally.

So much of your writing leaves me blinking back tears of recognition and resonance.

Coming through the first four stages of grief over the last handful of years has left me too with a deep longing for peace and surrender. Not surrender in the sense of giving up, but more in the sense of "becoming one with" the flow of life around me.

I've discovered I'm on a path called the Diamond Approach, created recently by the Kuwaiti teacher A.H. Almaas. Its main tool is a deep inner inquiry that enables me to go back and untangle the knots that formed early in childhood. Sometimes when I do that I suddenly find myself clinging desperately to the walls of a terrifyingly deep hole that has been revealed in my personality. If I have the courage and the support of a good facilitator, I can let go of the wall. Instead of the plunge to the annihilation that seemed so certain a moment before, I find myself floating in deep peace, in perfect acceptance of my Self, in touch with my own essence.

This is the image that comes to me whenever I read the phrase, "we must let go of the shore". As we surrender to it, the river that threatens us with annihilation reveals itself to be the fluid of life that supports and nurtures us in our journey.

For Christmas I wish you courage, faith, surrender, compassion and forgiveness.

Love,
Bodhi
